Frequently Asked Questions
Multiply the number by the percentage and divide by 100. For example, 25% of 200 = (25 ÷ 100) × 200 = 50. Use the 'X% of Y' mode above for instant results.
Percentage change = ((New Value − Old Value) ÷ |Old Value|) × 100. A positive result means an increase; a negative result means a decrease. Example: from 80 to 100 → ((100−80)÷80)×100 = 25% increase.
Divide X by Y and multiply by 100. For example, 30 is what percent of 120? (30 ÷ 120) × 100 = 25%. Use the 'What % is X of Y?' mode for instant calculation.
To add P% to a value V: V × (1 + P/100). To subtract P%: V × (1 − P/100). Example: 200 + 15% = 200 × 1.15 = 230; 200 − 15% = 200 × 0.85 = 170.
